Catalogue of the Coleoptera Cetoniidae in the Leiden museum : 1. Goliathus Lamarck, sensu lato Naturalis
Wiebes, J.T..
The collection of Cetoniid Coleoptera in the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie at Leiden contains, next to the usual assortment of chafers from various sources, several collections made by well-known specialists. Most important is the one made by F.T. Valck Lucassen (including the collection of O.E. Janson), acquired by the museum in 1940. A world collection of Cetoniidae is being arranged on the basis of this Valck Lucassen material. In 1928, the collection of G. van Roon was bequeathed to the museum, where it is to remain as such, not incorporated in the main collection. The data of the collection will be presented in this and forthcoming parts of a catalogue, accompanied by such revisional notes which it seems desirable to publish. Reference is here...

A new key to the suprageneric taxa in the Beetle Family Cetoniidae, with annotated lists of the known Genera Naturalis
Krikken, J..
A revised key to the subfamilies, tribes and subtribes of the Cetoniidae (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea) is presented. Comments are given on the classification implied by the key, which includes several redefinitions. All the known genera (ca. 510) are listed under their tribe or subtribe, the position of several being different from that in Schenkling's catalogues (1921, 1922). References to recent synoptic literature are given. Eighteen new subtribes are proposed, the majority in the tribe Cremastocheilini. One new tribe is proposed, the Platygeniini. Attention is drawn to various new and neglected synonymies, original spellings, and other nomenclatural matters regarding family-group and genus-group names. The position of many genera is briefly discussed....

Large-eyed Onthophagus species of Sundaland: a key and descriptions of five new species (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) Naturalis
Krikken, J.; Huijbregts, J..
Seven species of the scarab genus Onthophagus Latreille are keyed and described. They are all characterized by the possession of large eyes (in full-face view), a feature possibly related to nocturnal habits. Traditionally these species are placed in Micronthophagus Balthasar, which is here argued to be a polyphyletic group. Five species are new: paroculus (Sumatra), setoculus (Sumatra), sideki (Sumatra, Borneo), phillippsorum (Borneo), collinsi (Borneo). Of two old species, O. drescheri Paulian and rotundicollis Lansberge, new records are given.

Rutelarcha, Lutera and Cyphelytra: notes on taxonomy and Nomenclature, Diagnoses, and keys (Coleoptera: Rutelinae, Rutelini) Naturalis
Kuijten, P.J..
Rutelarcha, Lutera and Cyphelytra are restated as genera, in the subtribus Rutelina; Arrow (1917) considered them synonyms of Parastasia, in the Parastasiina. Machatschke's (1972) new name Parastasia pauliana for Parastasia nigromaculata (Ohaus) (= Lutera) therefore is superfluous, and merged into synonymy. Lectotypes are designated for Cyphelytra ochracea and Rutelarcha quadrimaculata. The genera and species are diagnosed in a table, keys and descriptions, and some diagnostic characters are figured.
